Located in the theatre district, the 9th arrondissement, Palais Garnier is the most historic opera house in Paris. It was commissioned by Napoleon III and features Neo-Baroque and Renaissance architecture. The 19th-century palace is full of intricate details, with a marble staircase, red and gold auditorium, and bronze and crystal chandeliers. Guests can visit to see an opera or ballet show, and there are also tours of the building during the day.
