Retiro, Madrid

"This 19th-century glass and iron structure, inspired by London's Crystal Palace, hosts contemporary art exhibitions. Surrounded by a serene lake and lush greenery, it offers an idyllic blend of architectural beauty and modern creativity."
The Palacio de Cristal is a beautiful glass and iron structure inside Madrid’s main green lung, Parque del Retiro. It dates back to 1887, when it was built for an exhibition and was modeled after the Crystal Palace in London’s Hyde Park. Shady trees surround the palace, and it has a small duck pond in front. Today, it belongs to Museo Reina Sofía and features temporary art exhibitions.
