If you want to learn more about the city’s history, visit the Museo de Historia de Madrid in Chueca, in the impressive Baroque San Fernando Hospice building. It tells the story of the people and culture in Madrid starting from 1561 when Madrid became the capital of Spain. There are more than 60,000 objects to look at, like coins, furniture, porcelain, and medals. Admission is free.
