Madrid’s most famous food market is Mercado de San Miguel in the Asturias neighborhood. It was built in 1916 and revamped in 2009 to become a gourmet market where visitors can sample bites from around Spain. There are 30 stands inside offering seafood, Spanish meat and cheese, local wines and beers, and more. You can also shop for items to take home with you.
