Whilst many travelers head inland to Tuscany’s countryside, Maremma is positioned on the coastline in Southern Tuscany—so it’s the best of both worlds. One of the biggest reasons why tourists head here is to enjoy its famous Saturnia thermal baths. The Maremma refers to the area, and then there are the cities, towns, and little villages that comprise the region. The largest city is the capital, Grosseto, and Massa Marittima is very popular too. Montemerano is considered one of Tuscany’s most beautiful villages, and super quaint Pitigliano is also worth a stop.
