Nestled between the mountains in the Lombardy region, it’s 1.5 hours by car, or under two hours via train from Milan. Dotted with stunning villages and towns, colorful buildings line the waterfront, and grand villas draw the attention of the rich and famous. Some of the major towns include Como City, Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, and Nesso. The hiking trails and walks are unparalleled. In the warmer months, swimming is popular, or hanging out at one of the lake’s beaches.
