La Garrotxa is home to the La Garroxta Volcanic Zone Natural Park and is actually the most important volcanic area on the Iberian Peninsula. This nature reserve is home to several inactive volcanoes that create its unique landscape and biodiversity. It’s a great escape from the city if you’re looking for hiking trails with Roman ruins and nearby medieval towns.
