This is one of Japan’s oldest and best examples of traditional Japanese gardens. As the name suggests, this garden is in the Koishikawa district. It was built in 1629 during the early Edo period as part of the Tokyo home of the ruling Tokugawa family. Here, you’ll see small ponds with stones, trails, hills, and many plants and trees. Look for the famous cherry blossom trees in bloom when visiting in March and April.
