Like many of Greece’s points of interest, the National Observatory (NOA) also dates back centuries. Founded in 1842, it’s officially the country’s oldest research institute. It was built on the Hill of the Nymphs, and from here, you’re afforded wonderful vistas of the Acropolis. When you arrive, head to the Thissio Visitor Center. Here, learn more information related to general and Greek astronomy. Within is the Geoastrophysics Museum as well as the Observatory’s library, housing many important scientific instruments, documents and books.
