Nezu, Tokyo

"A pleasant space filled with the atmosphere of the old downtown, where you can enjoy skewers made with carefully selected ingredients, accompanied by homemade miso sauce."
Hantei in Nezu traces its roots back to 1970 and has been in its current charming location since 1978. It’s inside a three-story wooden house that’s officially registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. Hantei specializes in kushiage, simple skewers of deep-fried meat, fish, and vegetables that are served with homemade miso sauce. At lunch, you can get a 12-course meal with dessert, and at dinner, you can get either 14 or 12 courses.
