Porta Venezia, Milan

"Step into a sophisticated 19th-century Milanese aristocratic residence that Napoleon once called home, now housing a collection of 19th-century Italian modern art."
The estate and English-style gardens of Belgiojoso Bonaparte Villa (Villa Reale) have been open to Milan locals and visitors since 1920. The grand, Neoclassical building designed by Leopold Pollack has hosted the Galleria d'Arte Moderna (GAM) since opening to the public. You can see works from Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, and other famous artists. The building itself has a rich history and was once home to Napoleon in the early 19th century.
