Centro, Granada

"Flower‑laden crosses, live music, and street dancing citywide."
Granada is transformed into a flurry of colors come May 3rd, when the Crosses of May festival is celebrated. Locals arrive in traditional costumes, the sound of music fills the air, and flamenco dancing takes up the roads. The annual tradition is decorating crosses with flowers, and there’s even a competition held for the most visually appealing. These crosses are laid out around Granada, especially at different church altars. It’s something unique to experience.
