"The biggest park in town, where locals love to go for a walk, bike ride, or picnic."

Madrid Local

Casa de Campo is a massive park on the city's west side that covers more than 4,250 hectares—that's five times bigger than New York's Central Park. It was created in the 16th century as a private hunting estate for the royal family but opened to the public in 1930. In addition to being an important green space, the park has a theme park, cable car system, zoo, and swimming pool.
