Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto

"Perched on rocks, the hexagonal Senhor da Pedra chapel overlooks a vast stretch of sand. Each year, it hosts a large three-day pilgrimage in honor of Senhor da Pedra, starting on Holy Trinity Sunday."
This unique chapel is on Miramar Beach in Vila Nova da Gaia. It’s a hexagonal chapel that’s built on large rocks right next to the Atlantic Ocean. Even though it looks like the waves could take it at any time, it’s stood in this spot for more than 300 years. The chapel is located 15 kilometers south of the city and can be easily reached by car or public transportation.
