Cálem is a port wine cellar across the Douro River that has been operating for more than 150 years. While it’s a very popular place for wine tasting, an experience that you really can’t miss here is a fado performance. Fado is traditional Portuguese music known for its soulfulness and expression. The fado show takes place right in the cellar and special wines are brought out to enjoy while watching.
