Paris Local

Calling fans of the classic madeleine (a genoise sponge cake in the shape of tiny shells, sometimes made with lemon zest or almond flour). Blé Sucré is the celebrated purveyor of oversized madeleine in the city. This traditional after-school snack is ubiquitous with childhood memories of all French people. Apart from these cakes, croissants are the word on everyone’s lips — some even claim they are the best croissants in Paris. Other must-try pastries are the chausson aux pommes (pastry pockets stuffed with apples and applesauce) and the pain au chocolat.
