Ho Chi Minh City Local

This solemn temple in Gò Vấp is a shrine dedicated to the Holy Mother of the Realm. It was built in 1820 in a Chinese style with blue tile roofs and shaped like a blooming lotus. Stories say that the Mother of the Realm helped villagers fight back against the Siam Army, so many still come here to seek blessings from her. Her statue is the oldest sandstone statue in Vietnam.
