Syntagma, Athens

"The National Garden, nestled in the heart of Athens, is my go-to place when I want to escape the hustle and bustle. It’s a peaceful oasis, perfect for a quiet walk or a leisurely sit by the pond. I often visit in the early mornings or late afternoons."
Located between the iconic Panathenaic Stadium and the central Syntagma Square, the National Garden is a tranquil oasis. Tall trees provide shade for park-goers, walkers, or picnickers, including the park’s famed towering palms (named the Washingtonias). Spot cute ducks waddling along the ponds, as well as turtles and koi swimming within these. Kids enjoy it here, too, and there’s a dedicated children’s playground. Built by 1840, there’s also a Botanical Museum here.
