Granada

"Explore the dramatic gorge of Alhama and marvel at the exquisite Roman mosaics at Salar. This trip reveals layers of history in stunning landscapes."
The thing that makes Alhama so famous is its natural thermal springs; dating to Roman times and then expanded on by the Arabs during Moorish rule. The area itself holds grave importance, especially during the Granada War and the Spanish War of Independence against the French, also known as the Peninsular War. The hot springs are still here, some of which are free to use, as well as thermal baths you can find at the spas. Alhama (54 minutes from Granada) is popular for paragliding and hang gliding, too. Don’t miss the Roman Villa of Salar archaeological site either.
