Spend a couple of hours exploring the ins and outs of the Abbazia del Santissimo Salvatore, as well as its Museum of Sacred Art, and the various treasures still kept on-site. The Benedictine abbey has a long-standing history, and it’s believed to have been founded in 743 CE. The religious complex comprises the abbey, crypt, and cloister (all of which are open to visitors). This abbey also forms part of the famed Via Francigena pilgrimage route, ending in Rome.
